Hi everyone. It’s José Mier again. Today I just wanted to talk about web hosting. If you our web developer review have a web developer that use you were day understand that it’s really important have a great website. Not only one that looks good but one that is fast. Nowadays Google looks at how fast the website is in determining where it shows up in the search results.
If you’re like me you depend on website to drive traffic dear business to make sales.if you’re trying to get extra customers and you got a slow website, don’t hold your breath. If that page doesn’t load quickly, you’re going to lose that customer cause they’re going to go somewhere else.
Even here in Sun Valley a lot of my neighbors and fellow business people running their businesses without a website. That is mistake number one. Once they rectify that, however, they need to make sure the the website looks good, has all the information that Their potential customers would like to see, and it’s also fast.
Now if you’re working with a web developer, they’re to do whatever they can to make sure that your pages loaded as fast as possible. I have my own web developer but I also dabble in website development so I’m familiar with some of the stuff that needs to be done. However, one thing out of the control of you for your website developer is the server that is hosted on. Yes, you could set up your own server in your basement or closet and be in charge if Your own IT department. But For most of us we hire the hosting company where we can put our website.
And if you’re unfamiliar with all the web hosting options out there, trust me, it does make a difference where you decide to host your website. Some people go for convenience hey hosting company like Go Daddy or blue host but the fact is you’re going to be sharing bandwidth with lots of other people because most of us sign up for the cheapest hosting account which is shared hosting.
On the other side of scale their companies like WPX which is lightning fast but also cost a bit more. It all comes down to how much are comfortable willing to spend and how important website speed is to you. Web speed, also known as page load speeds, is more important these days than it used to be. You may not have to worry so much about this if you have a single page website which is mostly text and maybe a few images answers as a basic brochure site. But anything more and you’re going to need to invest in a hosting account that provides fast servers.
The other thing that you may not realize is that it does make a difference where the servers are located. For me, José Mier in Sun Valley California, I want to have my website posted on the server that’s is close to me as possible. Having a server physically located you Close proximity to your Geographic region or where your customers are means that it’s going to be served up faster for those people. I need something close to Sun Valley. I don’t need something in Russia for France because I don’t deal internationally and only really in southern California.
All this is just an introductory lesson in Website hosting. If you’re in the market for the website for a web host my advice is to do your research and see how good each hosting company is. Read the reviews and check where their servers are located. It’s one thing I do and I recommend this to all my Sun Valley neighbors.
